5 UK data startups selected for inaugural Data Pitch innovation programme

5 UK startups have been selected amongst 18 chosen companies for the first inaugural Data Pitch innovation programme.
The first group of Data Pitch startups were introduced at the Data Pitch 'Kick-Off' event, at Runway East in London, last Thursday (1st Feb 18) where each startup introduced their proposals to meet real-world industrial and societal challenges by creating innovative new data solutions in a range of sectors including transport, tourism, manufacturing, healthcare and retail.
18 companies from 142 applicants were selected for the first open call and will now receive mentoring, funding and support over a six month period, working with major data providers including Deutsche Bahn, Sonae, UniServ GMBH and Spazio Dati.
The first successful cohort comes from the UK, Italy, Germany, Estonia, Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania and the Netherlands. The UK based startups selected were:
NextQuestion
NextQuestion automates business decisions through machine learning algorithms and crisp user interfaces.
Predina
Predina’s mission is to leverage AI to save lives, prevent injuries and reduce costs caused by road accidents.
Transformative
Transformative employs predictive analytics to transform healthcare.
Spend Network believes linked data is the solution.
AI Poli
Using machine learning to verify factual inaccuracies and combat misinformation online.
