5 startups will be exhibiting at Web Summit 2017 free of cost, courtesy of the Startup League

Earlier this year, the Startup League, a unique startup support program partnered with Web Summit 2017 to create a very special offering for 5 startups - a chance to get a coveted ALPHA booth at the event, at 100% sponsorship!
Web Summit which started in Dublin in 2009 as a technology meet up of around 100 enthusiastic startup founders, bloggers and experts has now become a huge event which played host to some 53,000 attendees in Lisbon last year.
Over the course of 7 events, Web Summit has grown tremendously, and was host to some 53,000 attendees in Lisbon last year. At that event, over 500 startups exhibited their products and were vying for the eyes of over 500 investors who were also in attendance. As you’d expect, the conference is now regarded by many as a Mecca of sorts for aspiring startups to showcase their idea at.
Recognising the constant startup struggle to focus on marketing and the financial challenges which can often arise when exhibiting at startup conferences, the Startup League offering of a coveted ALPHA booth at this year’s summit to 5 startups - at 100% sponsorship no less, was a pretty awesome opportunity. And when you consider that the winning startups also had the opportunity to avail of free branded T-shirts and swag as well as PR support from the Startup League folk, you can understand why it has proven to be a popular initiative.
Over the last two months, the initiative had over 200 applicants from across the globe, and through a careful screening and selection process, they have chosen 5 startups to avail of this fab opportunity. Those startups are:
Nu-rise: Currently a part of the Mass Challenge Accelerator program, Nu-rise has developed a probe that goes inside a cancer patient’s body and monitors, in real-time, the level of radiation the patient is receiving. The doctor can target the cancer but avoid the healthy organs thereby providing better, safer and more accurate radiation treatment.
Sensei: Sensei provides precise in-store analytics to understand customer behaviour, through the use of their easily installed devices, ranging from cameras, sensors and routers to their proprietary Sensei Tag. Sensei is currently being accelerated at the Techstars Metro Retail program in Berlin.
OCEO Water: IoT-based OCEO Smart Water purifiers feature a multiple-stage filtration process to produce bottle-quality drinking water right at home. OCEO comes with a unique pay per litre model, thereby aiming to reduce carbon footprint during the water purification process. Alumni of the AIRMaker accelerator program in Singapore, OCEO recently won the ASEAN round of the Alibaba Cloud Startup Contest.
Pavnext: Pavnext converts the energy harvested from running vehicles into electrical energy, at a very high efficiency rate, recycling a wasted energy into clean electrical energy. A winner of the BIG Smart Cities challenge, Pavnext is working with local governments of Portuguese cities to bring the concept to implementation.
Oko AI: An AI-powered intelligent newsroom assistant that sources and summarises your newsroom. Oko was a part of the YCombinator Startup School of 2017, UPTEC Startup School 2017 and Microsoft Portugal Startups Spotlight 2017.
However with those 5 startups now selected, the opportunity still remains for startups seeking to exhibit at Web Summit to apply for 25% sponsorship on an ALPHA/BETA booth.
Apart from offering 100% sponsorship to five startups, the Startup League is also offering 25% sponsorship to all other startups that are exhibiting at Web Summit 2017.
Some of the startups that have already received this support include Youclap (www.youclap.tech), Kickfit (www.igetfit.online), Shuteye (www.shuteye.space), Faxime Game Studio (www.faxime.fun), among many others. These startups will also receive the entire gambit of the Startup League’s support including media shout-outs, booth goodies and much more!
Created in 2016 by Radix, a registry for new domain extensions .TECH, .STORE, .SPACE, .ONLINE, .SITE, .WEBSITE, .PRESS, .HOST and .FUN, the Startup League aims to ease the burden of marketing for startups by offering event sponsorships at leading startup conferences like Web Summit, TechCrunch Disrupt London, TNW etc, PR and marketing support, among many other benefits.
