2014 NT100 - call for entries

by Startacus Admin
If you’re involved in some form of social innovation, then the recently launched NT100 is probably well worth a look.
Now in its second year, this initiative launched by The Nominet Trust aims to give recognition to the top 100 people and places who are using digital technology to make the world a better place.
Whether you’re using the web, mobile, big data or physical computing, if your fundamental aim is to address a real social challenge, then they want to hear from you - or about you!
By running such an initiative, Nominet are aiming to not only celebrate and showcase the innovative work that social entrepreneurs are doing, but they are also aiming to help inspire other people to follow their lead. The more people realise the impact that digital technology can have on social issues and challenges, the better.
Nominet have taken on board feedback from those social innovators who made the grade on last year’s list. Many of them have stated that they feel more work needs to be done to increase public awareness of tech for social good - hence Nominet’s continued commitment to do just that.
Projects and organisations from anywhere in the world can apply to be considered for the NT100 and even if you’re not directly involved in such an organisation, but you are aware of one, you can make a nomination.
The call for entries opened this week and will remain open until September 26th. Nominations and entries can be submitted online via the Social Tech Guide or through Twitter - via @socialtechguide, using the hashtag #nt100. The final results are expected to be announced in November 2014.
Not only is this a pretty prestigious thing to be a part of, but it could also prove to be an invaluable bit of PR and Marketing for those organisations and projects who are lucky enough to make the final list.
If social digital innovation is your thing, then you shouldn’t miss out on this fab opp.
Best of luck to all of you who enter!
