20 awards of £500 to give away - check this creative based comp out

by Startacus Admin
We have featured IdeasTap a few times on Startacus. Competitions and awards really do seem to float the boat over at IdeasTap HQ and previously we have highlighted competitions such as the Sky Arts Ignition: Futures Fund, Uni Fee Fund and the Ideas Fund Innovators’ awards so we thought it was wise to highlight the updated Ideas Fund Innovators’ Awards.
With a closing date of 5pm on 5th July there is still time to enter this IdeasTap competition although admittedly there are a few important caveats to run over.
So what’s it all about? Well, if you have a creative project, that could do with an extra £500 the Ideas Fund Innovators’ Awards is for you. The scheme supports creative projects - and supports them, not just with a few choice kind words, but with a cash injection of £500 too.
They are looking for “inspiring, original, innovative and realistic projects” and the fund is open to all creative disciplines. However, and there is a rather big however, this is an age restricted project - the Ideas Fund Innovators is an awards scheme for anyone aged 16 - 30 with 10 awards given to those aged 16 - 22 years old and 10 awards allocated to the 23-30 year old age bracket.
It’s not necessarily ideal and here at Startacus we love awards that are not age related or specific - however at the same time you cannot ignore the opportunity that this still offers to a section of the UK population.
The good news is that 60% of the assessment of an idea will be based on the creativity and innovation of the idea itself and this fund is intended to finance gestating ideas to help get them off the ground, rather than enhancing existing projects that are in need of a financial boost.
There are plenty of terms and conditions to read and we’re not here to list them all and tick all the boxes of your application, however if you are a wannabe or early stage self starter, aged between 16 and 30 and have a ‘gestating creative idea’ - we reckon you should get on the case and take a look at all the detail.
Good luck and we look forward to hearing more about the awarded ideas as they are supported over the coming months. Oh and if you need somewhere to get your idea together - why not check out our virtual workspace!
