£10K Boost For Derry & North West Entrepreneurs
Aspiring entrepreneurs in the Derry and North West region of NI & Ireland are being given the opportunity to benefit from a £10K seed capital boost as new local accelerator ‘Growing Startups’ launches in the area.
Growing Startups
Participants in the intensive 12-week programme will also be given access to a range of business support facilities, expert hands-on mentorship, and skills training within a learning environment designed to encourage and develop a new generation of budding businesses within the region.
The Launch of Growing Startups coincides with the annual Derry Enterprise Week, as the organisers issue an open call for applications from entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs working within all industries, who have very early stage businesses ripe for rapid development within an intense and highly focused environment.
Programme Founder, Tony McIntyre said: “We are excited to launch Growing Startups, which will give new local companies a great chance to succeed. Working in an intense accelerator environment will help nurture these startups, give them the chance to grow and benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the investors we have pooled together.”
The programme will culminate in participants being given the opportunity to pitch their business to a range of investors and support organisations, all well placed to help take their business to the next level.
The programme is being hailed not only as a great opportunity for new local businesses but also for mentors and investors keen to work with some great up-and-coming entrepreneurs from the local area.
Programme Manager Connor Doherty said “We’re on the hunt for passionate people with great ideas, ready to take the leap into starting their own business. We’re looking for companies that are very early stage, but have potential to scale. Then, over the course for 12 weeks, we’re going to work intensively to help shape these companies and put them in front of a range of support organisations and other funding options. Entrepreneurs will not only benefit from the seed capital and support, but also from a wealth of experience of the mentors and the great co-working space.”
The application process is now well under way, and would-be participants have until March 18th 2016 to express their interest, with the programme commencing on April 4th.
Applications can be made here.
Growing Startups is also issuing a call for mentors and investors who are interested in getting involved with the programme. They can get in touch with the team by emailing them at media@growingstartups.com.
Good luck to all who enter!
