Ukraine's tech ecosystem was thriving in recent years and thanks to the innate resilience of its people, it will thrive once again. Here are just a few of the Ukrainian Startups that we'd like to shine a light on...

Over the last few years, the tech ecosystem in Ukraine has been thriving, with more and more innovative startups emerging. And whilst recent events have created extreme and tumultuous challenges for those startups, their innate resilience, extensive global support and initiatives such as Google’s Ukraine Support Fund will combine to help them succeed once again. Here, we’d like to shine a light on and give recognition to just a few of those innovative startups…

Based in Kyiv, deep3Dstudio was founded in 2019 by Vadym Shestakov as a photogrammetry studio that provides 3D scanning and post-production services for a number of different industries. Everything in relation to the business is in 3D, with features including; a custom-built 3D scanning rig with an impressive 100 DLSR cameras, ensuring the customer can create a wide range of unique high quality products. It offers an extensive range of services - from character development, scanning, modelling and texturing through to rigging and animation. and a number of other services.

Lemonlemon

Lemon was created by founders Aleksandr Voldarsky, Vasyl Dzesa and Anvar Azizov.with a mission to be an “exclusive community of startup sidekicks.” The online marketplace is aimed at both helping vetted software engineers find jobs and helping clients form connections with freelance developers in a clear and upfront way. With transparency on fees, a desire to ensure fairness and equity for all, this startup aims to benefit both clients and developers alike.

Framiorefranmiore

Framiore was founded by Natalia Naida in 2018 with the mission to preserve tailoring traditions from lesser known cultures and those that are in danger of extinction. The business has a strong moral ethos that simple choices can change the world. Via its online store, Framiore aims to produce comfy, light clothes whose production causes as little damage to the planet as possible. All pieces are impressively designed in-house and fabrics are able to be upcycled or recycled when the time comes. In February 2020, the startup won a $50,000 grant from the Ukrainian Startup Fund.

choiZYchoizy

Edtech Choizy was founded in 2019 and reportedly already has 25K users to date. Founders Dmitry Voitekh, Ievgenii Popov and Oleksandr Pavlenko created an alternative to traditional career guidance methods. Through their startup their aim is to create an innovative wayto help school children to acquire career guidance, to help university students to choose a career and to inform young professionals should they be considering changing their jobs or career pathways. Through the help of Al technology, the Choizy App (available on both iOS and Android platforms ) has features that identify personal interests, help to discover a suited career and additionally pinpoints an individual's soft skill. There are currently over 428 professions on the app ensuring a diverse range of choices for users

Notynoty

In a time where zoom calls and online meetings have become the new norm, Noty is aiming to be an essential tool. Founders Natalia Marina, Mykola Zomchak and Marko Vovchok have created Noty in order to make meetings productive again. Their browser extension is actively transforming Google Meets and Zooms with features including; video call transcription, summaries and analytics, collaboration and integrations amongst many more. There are currently 1,217 people from over 30 companies using the service and the team have raised $200,000 in a round led by GEEK ventures. Online calls are the way forward with this startup!

Rooshroosh

Roosh literally means ‘go’ and this is what founder Sergey Tokarev is aiming to focus on with his startup. With headquarters in Kyiv, the business follows young entrepreneurs in Europe and the US and invests and supports them during their early stage projects. Roosh strives to create and invest in ambitious products and help others develop innovative ideas. The main goal is to build Al and ML product companies in Ukraine and give young talent there an opportunity. They aim to boost, accelerate, help, mentor, share experience, fund and give access to resources and effectively be an absolute essential resource for any young entrepreneur.

Elomiaelmoia

Founded in 2019 by Taras Pohrebniak and Michael Markevych, Elomia, is a virtual Al powered therapist offering 24/7 support. The aim is to provide emotional support whenever it’s needed. Elomia has a long-term goal of creating an Al that can treat mental health issues with a human-level effectiveness.To date, they have already recorded 20,000 conversations and text based sessions with 50 therapists over 2 years.They claim to help with over 44 different sorts of problems and the app is currently used by 7,000 people. In essence this startup wants to offer hope and reassurance to anyone who needs it.

EdProedpro

EdPro was created by Andriy Tabachyn as a technological solution that will change education. EdPro is the leading educational consultancy and the largest manufacturer of interactive panels in Ukraine.The startup aims to make education more interesting and keep students engaged. Their products and services have been used in each of the 120 public schools in Lviv and 300 secondary schools throughout Ukraine and they also have the largest network in regards to private schools and educational institutions also.

Recoshelfrecoshelf

Recoshelf is an interesting startup that was founded by Mykytra Holubakha and Yaroslav Parkhisenko in 2019. Their mission is to empower usersto sell more using continuous shelf monitoring. The technology serves FMCG suppliers and retailers, enabling them to automate trading floor operations, particularly monitor product availability, planogram and prices. The AI based cloud service is able to recognise thousands of shelf pictures every day which are collected in supermarkets. Their goal is to address issues such as empty shelves or items being in the wrong place and they have had a positive impact on sales for their users to date.

Hiriohirio

Founded in 2020 by Kostya Miska and Artem Dudinsky and with a base in Kyiv, Hirio ,set out with the mission to automate high-volume hiring processes. The all-in-one data driven platform enables high volume recruiters to fill jobs within a matter of days and is a comprehensive HR platform with benefits for both businesses and job seekers alike. The startup has already received an impressive £330K in pre seed funding.
