As it's Men's Health Week, we thought it only right to shine a light on a few of the fab startups that are addressing that hugely important issue...

It's been a pretty challenging couple of years for us all and now as we begin to emerge from the pandemic, it's more important than ever that we keep our health and wellbeing at the forefront. And since it's Men's Health Week, we thought it would be quite timely to shine a light on a few of the fab startups that are addressing that hugely important issue. So, without further ado and in no particular order, here are 10 startups aiming to help men with all aspects of their health - the body and the mind...

ExSeed Health
exseedExSeed Health is a startup that aims to address the issue of male infertility. It has developed an over 95% accurate CE Certified device and app that provides men with Sperm Health results quickly, enabling them to take control of their fertility and reproductive health.Users can order a test kit, provide a sample and get personalised advice. The app consists of a personalised lifestyle intervention program and includes valuable tips on improving sperm where relevant.

Mental Happy
Mental Happy is a health platform that is designed to help everyone with their mental wellbeing regardless of their gender, race or any other factors. They are on a mission to improve individuals emotional well-being, through positive peer support. The platform allows individuals to join a range of positive support groups led by experts and they have a 14 day free trial available!mental happy

/ezraEzra Al
US-based startup Ezra Al has been created to catch potential cancer earlier, therefore making it easier to beat. The startup enables individuals to book an Ezra Full Body scan that takes up to one hour and looks for warning signs of potential cancer and diseases in up to 13 organs. Once results are received, an Ezra Medical Provider will then talk the user through the findings in an actionable and understandable way.

blokesblOKes

The aim of blOKes is to provide men with a safe, supportive and non-judgmental platform to open up about their mental health and connect with others. The startup uses the hashtag #MaleTale to enable users to follow stories and get insights. The blOkes team also have an online forum that gives men the chance to share experiences, stories, guidance or advice, all whilst connecting with other men around the world.

The Sons startup is an online, subscription based service that offers clinically proven treatments directly to your door. Sons offers a range of treatment plans for men on issues including Hair Loss, Gut Health, Brain Health and Immune Health amongst many others. Their mission is to ‘make every new generation of sons healthier and happier than the last’. The Sons website also offers lessons on a range of health topics and highlights the suggested treatment plans for each with the supporting rationale for those treatment plans.

tethr logoTethr

Tethr is a startup which we have highlighted previously, and is known to be the first peer enabled emotional fitness and wellbeing app for men in the world. Tethr enables users to join for free when they need a safe space. The Tethr app offers a host of features to help mental health including the ability to participate in online forums, the option for users to connect one-on-one and also undertake a virtual program by joining accountability pods.

Manual aims to empower men to have all the info and choices they may need for good health and wellbeing. They support a wide range of men's health topics including Sleep, Hair Loss, Weight Loss and Skin issues. Users can get insights into the topics, suggested treatment plans as well as access stories and testimonials from other users who have had similar issues. Users can also complete an online questionnaire and receive personalised recommended treatment suggestions as well as having the opportunity to connect directly with one of the Manual clinicians.

mhlMental Health League
US-based Mental Health League aims to add an enjoyable spin to tracking your mental health. Its app provides daily education, motivation and live coaching to help support good mental health. It also features a daily scorecard in the form of a digital journal which helps men reflect on their day and identify how to improve their day, if required. Users can also avail of the support of other users and feedback from the Mental Health League coaches.

Numan-LOGONuman                                                                                                Numan is the “helpful healthcare” startup. It provides men with support on a range of healthcare issues. Users can avail of a free online consultation, which is reviewed by clinicians and if a treatment is suggested and approved, the individual will usually receive it discreetly via post within 24 hours. Users can also follow up with additional queries and issues whenever and wherever required and can get continuous support. There are also no long term obligations as there is an option to cancel treatment at any time.

Mojo is the world’s first app to enlighten and guide men on sexual health awareness, in particular erectile dysfunction. It claims to be the first app dedicated to promote a medication-free approach to the wellbeing of mens sexual health. Mojo offers a quarterly subscription service, features a virtual coach and includes a range of DIY exercises and techniques with guidance from world-class sexual health professionals. Mojo also provides insights and support on other topics such as confidence in bed and enjoying intimacy and users have the chance to connect with others if they wish!
